Why catering operations break at scale
A catering operator handling a 200-guest wedding via phone orders has roughly 800 modifier requests to track ('rendang for him, no peanuts for the bride, vegetarian for table 8'). Pen-and-paper or WhatsApp messages lose roughly 5-12% of those customisations.
Cash + DuitNow QR + bank transfer reconciliation at the venue takes hours. Some orders go uncollected because the customer 'forgot' what they paid for.
What MenuBase does for catering
Each guest receives a unique pre-event QR code (via WhatsApp invite or printed table card). They select their meal, modifiers, allergens. Payment via DuitNow QR, Touch n Go, GrabPay.
The kitchen sees a real-time tally: 47 rendang chicken, 23 vegetarian, 12 with no peanuts. Production list is exact, prep waste drops.
On the day: guest scans QR at their table, sees their pre-confirmed order. Walk-in additions handled the same way.
What MenuBase does NOT do for catering
No automated POS integration. Final reconciliation at end-of-event is via the dashboard (export to CSV, hand to your accountant).
Not a full event management platform. We don't track venue bookings, vendor contracts, or staffing. Those stay with your existing event tools.
