Why halal-cert venues benefit from a multilingual menu
About 60% of the Malaysian customer base actively prefers halal-certified venues. Of that base, language preference varies: Bahasa Malaysia first for many Malay-Muslim customers, English for younger urban customers, Mandarin and Tamil for Muslim minorities and Indian-Muslim families.
A halal-certified venue with a single-language menu (say, English-only) misses meaningful spending from customers who would have ordered more if the specials had been in their preferred language.
What MenuBase does for halal-certified venues
Customer scans QR. Menu renders in their browser's preferred language (English live, Bahasa Malaysia live, Mandarin live; Tamil on roadmap).
Halal certification is displayed prominently in the menu header (your JAKIM number, expiry date, verification link).
Allergen tags on every item: no-pork (default), no-alcohol (default), nut-free, dairy-free, vegetarian, vegan.
What MenuBase does NOT do for your halal cert
MenuBase is a customer-facing menu layer. It does not touch your kitchen, your suppliers, your storage, your separation procedures, or your JAKIM audit process. Your halal certification remains entirely in your operational control.
We do not integrate with JAKIM systems and we do not handle halal cert renewal paperwork. That stays with you and your halal cert consultant.
Pro-operator framing
Halal cert is operator infrastructure. MenuBase is the customer-facing layer on top. The two coexist independently.
